The Blackpool Flying Carnival was a unique meeting - a national meeting consisting of two six-day competitive events with eleven non-competitive days of exhibition flights inbetween. The biggest names were Claude Grahame-White, Géo Chávez and Bartolomeo Cattaneo.
The meeting was badly hit by hard winds from the Irish Sea and ended with disastrous losses, which put an end to the Lancashire Aero Club's ambitions to establish a permanent airfield on the site.
