Are or were there any books about the Reims 1909 Grande Semaine D'Aviation? I've got 2 on the 1910 Los Angeles air meet and one on the history of the Gordon Bennet trophy, but have never seen one on the first international air meet. I find that incredible that one of the biggest moments in the history of aviation has not had a book written about it.

Reims 1909 Grande Semaine D'Aviation book?
Re: Reims 1909 Grande Semaine D'Aviation book?
I posted too soon. I found one english language book which I've ordered, and a few french books that look like they'd be worth it for the photographs. I'll let you know.

You'll find several on the references page.
Honestly, don't bother about the Lieberg book, it gives atmosphere but it's old and confused. It's like listening to an old man telling what he remembers, repeating things that he thinks he remembers, losing the track, and not telling the same thing every time he repeats...
If you know any French at all, go for the recent French ones!

Oh well, I've already ordered the Lieberg book for 28¢ from Amazon. I don't read French but am pretty read up on the Reims meet. Which books in the reference section have the best photographic records of the planes?
Thanks,
Sean

It's worth 28 cents, that's for sure!
For photos you should definitely choose the Nicolaou book. It's been out of print for while, but it might be possible to find it. The ISBN is 2907341952, I see that I haven't included ISBNs in the list for that meeting.
