The forum has been updated!
If you have visited the forum before you will probably be surprised by the new look.We were forced by our web host to update the forum software, and the new version of the software wasn't compatible with our old styling modifications. I'm still not completely pleased with the way it looks, but I'll ...

May 1910 Johannisthal meeting pages added!
Berlin's Johannisthal airfield hosted three meetings in 1910. The first one, held in May, was the only international one, but the only experienced foreign flyer was Baron de Caters from Belgium. The big money winner was Emil Jeannin, but he hardly made any profit since he crashed two planes during t...

New pages: The May 1910 St Petersburg Aviation Week!
I have the pleasure to announce new pages! As usual there are some bits and pieces missing from the report, especially from the last days, but this was what I could find - if you know more you are very welcome! Thanks to the Central State Archive of Cinema, Photographic and Phonographic Documents of...

New photos on the Berlin page!
Photos from the 1909 Berlin meeting aren't so easy to find, but during the last months I've found photos of a couple of the machines appearing at the Hamburg and Doncaster meetings, still wearing their Berlin race numbers. Check the Berlin "Planes" page!

Re: Bleriot Week at Seville
I can't say I know, but I believe it was a matter of which side of the field you were on - Camp de Châlons was the military establishment and Mourmelon-le-Grand the address of Farman and the other aviation companies there.

Re: Bleriot Week at Seville
Hi Nick and please forgive me for the late approval of your posts! My only explanation for the 16.4.1910 "Flight" article is that they mixed up the Seville meeting with the Barcelona meeting, which actually took place on 1-8 May. The list of participants fits better with Barcelona. I was m...

Re: Bleriot Week at Seville
Hi Nick and welcome to the forum! As can be seen from our Seville pages the event did really take place. Grahame-White backed out at a very late stage, after the first posters and programs had been printed. The reasons given in the Spanish press were unclear, but some hinted at a crash. During his f...
