New pages: The 1910 Reims meeting!
Hi everybody, I managed to finish the 1910 Reims pages before the end of the holidays! This was the biggest meeting during the pre-WW1 era, with no less than 76 airplanes entered, and almost every aviation record was broken. It is the second biggest installment of thefirstairraces.net in terms of th...

Re: New book about the German Wrights
As far as I can tell from a quick look, the book only contains one page with brief notes about Abramowitsch's flights at the May 1912 Johannisthal "Frühjahrsflugwoche" and his July-August 1912 flight to St Petersburg.

Re: Need information about Edmond (Morelle)
Was there even an Edmond Dufour? Jean Dufour was a Voisin pilot, French license No. 96 Édouard Dufour was a Blériot pilot, French license No. 103 Louis Dufour was, I believe, a Farman pilot, French license No. 185 I have seen the name Edmond Dufour in an article in Flight and in a list of French lic...

Re: Need information about Edmond (Morelle)
Hi Alexander, I haven't been able to find much information about "Edmond" either, but I was the lucky one to find definite proof of his identity. He was an automobile racer before turning to aviation, and seems to have disappeared from the news without a trace after 1910. The last reports ...

Re: Seeking information on Edith Maud Cook
That's an interesting project! I made a quick search in the 1910 aviation magazines that I have access to in digital format. It seems that "Miss Spencer" or "Miss Spencer-Kavanagh" disappeared from their pages around the end of March 1910. This was around the start of the 1910 me...

New pages: The July 1910 Mülhausen/Mulhouse meeting
This was a minor meeting, with only seven pilots entered and a three-day program, held outside Mülhausen, now better known in French as Mulhouse, in Alsace, which was then a part of Germany. The meeting was badly hit by hard winds, but most of the prize money was taken by Emil Jeannin on a locally b...

Re: Early Aviation Postal History
Hi Paul, and welcome to the forum! Postcard collecting will keep you busy for a long time - thousands were published, and lots of them are available on auction sites like Delcampe. For many of the meetings that we cover postcards are the main source of illustrations. I mainly collect them for docume...
