New pages: Vichy 1910 - was there a meeting or not?

The 1910 Vichy meeting is a bit of a mystery. It was announced and sanctioned already during the winter, but apparently didn't happen on the announced dates of 5-12 June. On the other hand, some fragments of information indicate that a minor meeting did take place one week later, during the weekend ...

Re: Airfield maps don't work

Oh, the pleasures of running a website... :| As usual I've no clue what has happened or what Google has done, but after one hour's work the URLs of the embedded airfield maps of 25 of the 32 airfield pages have been replaced. They now work on my computer. If they still don't work on your, please ref...

Re: Airfield maps don't work

It again seems that the embedded airfield maps don't work, or at least most of them. I will try to find the reason as soon as possible...

New pages: The June 1910 Rouen meeting!

The latest pages have been up a couple of days and are now fine-tuned and ready for you! The Rouen meeting was very successful, attracting 20 flyers and large crowds, despite difficult weather. The big stars were Léon Morane and Hubert Latham, but Bertram Dickson and Bartolomeo Cattaneo made more fl...

I've also found a couple of rare (but not very good...) photos of Henri Rougier's #2 and Jean Gobron's #17 Voisins.

New pages: The June 1910 "Grande Semaine de Paris"

This was a relatively minor meeting, held at the Port-Aviation airfield south of Paris. Eight pilots made official flights, and bad weather affected all days except two. The big stars were Émile Dubonnet, who for the first time displayed the big Tellier monoplane at a meeting, and Edmond Audemars wi...

The 1909 Douai meeting: More detailed maps

I recently managed to lay my hands on some 1909 issues of "La Revue de l'Aviation". One of them contained a couple of maps of the Douai/La Brayelle airfield. You will find them here!

New pages: The 1910 Budapest meeting!

It took a long time, but the Budapest pages are finally finished! The Budapest meeting was very ambitious, with a program covering eleven days and the largest prize fund and the longest list of entrants of any aviation meeting so far. It attracted several of aviation's biggest names, like Hubert Lat...
